Our comprehensive medical case management links clients to both agency services and community resources. Substance Abuse Aftercare
Our Substance Abuse Prevention Program offers relapse prevention services to clients, affected family members, and their caregivers. Primarily in the form of relapse prevention groups, this service seeks to help clients maintain a clean and sober lifestyle. For more info, contact Nick Boshnack.
Support Groups
Positive Voices. A support, social and informational group for men who are living with HIV/AIDS open to gay, straight and bisexual men. The group meets every other Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm and dinner is served. For more info, contact Nick Boshnack.
Women Empowered. A support group for women living with HIV/AIDS which meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month for lunch, features presentations which share valuable information on topics of interest. For more info, contact Fran McMullen.
Mental Health Counseling
Mental Health Counseling helps clients identify and manage the stress and emotional challenges they face. Administered by a team of caring and capable professionals, this comprehensive program seeks to improve each individual’s sense of serenity and quality of life. For more info, contact Nick Boshnack.
Alternative Therapy

Transportation
AIDS Project New Haven’s Transportation Program seeks to eliminate transportation as a barrier to care. By providing free bus passes to eligible clients or transporting clients by taxi, this program supports clients’ ongoing participation in HIV primary care and supportive services. Early Intervention Services
Early Intervention Specialists (EIS) assist early diagnosed individuals to access HIV, medical and support services while also working with out of care HIV+ individuals to reengage in HIV medical care and treatment. For more info, contact Nike Jackson.
Medical Nutrition Therapy Services
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) services are available to all our clients to help live a healthy life with HIV. The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) will perform a complete nutrition assessment to determine your individual nutrition needs. Contact: ryobrd@gmail.com
The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist will provide individual one-on-one counseling to assist with:
- Healthful Eating
- Weight Gain
- Weight Loss
- Pre Diabetes
- Diabetes
- High Cholesterol
- High Blood Pressure
- Gastrointestinal Symptoms (heartburn, gas, bloating, nausea, vomiting)
Other useful services available by the registered dietitian nutritionist include:
- Access to the MNT Non-Perishable Food Pantry
- Vitamin and Mineral Supplements (based on individual need)
- Individual and Group Nutrition Education
- Nutrition supplements (as prescribed by a physician)
